Located on the third floor of a historic building dating from 1891 in the Rue des Halles in the very centre of the Ecusson, Nîmes' Roman and medieval centre, “Au Coeur de Nîmes” is a charming large one-bedroom apartment which has been completely renovated and furnished in a relaxed contemporary style. 

Extremely light and airy, the apartment retains its authentic character with wooden parquet flooring and original beams, and features a spacious living and dining room, an American-style open kitchen, a study, a bedroom with a double bed, en-suite bathroom and a separate toilet. The building also has an elevator for easy access.

Completely private, the large, recently renovated terrace features uplighters for a romantic evening ambience, contemporary garden furniture for al fresco dining, sunbathing and relaxing, and stylish planters showcasing a variety of native Provencale plants and shrubs. The terrace overlooks the Cathedral, the Museum of Nîmes and the pavement cafes of the Place aux Herbes - one of Nîmes' most delightful squares - with a panorama of terracotta-tiled rooftops beyond.

The apartment offers wi-fi internet access throughout, and a flat-screen TV with an extensive selection of English, French and international satellite and cable TV channels. Additional amenities include a DVD/CD player and a portable iPod speaker for use inside or outside on the terrace.  It is also fitted with an electronic alarm and video security system.

Located in the very centre of Nîmes - the medieval pedestrianised "Ecusson" with its myriad quaint squares, small cafes, restaurants and shops - the apartment is only two minutes' walk from Les Halles de Nîmes covered food market,  which offers the very best of French produce, including the freshest fish, meat, cheese, fruit and vegetables, olives, charcuterie and so on. A small supermarket and a convenience store are located opposite the food market to cover all your needs. 

For keen cooks and gourmets, the apartment's fully equipped kitchen and al fresco terrace or interior dining areas ensure memorable meals at home - bon appetit!  However, if you prefer to relax and let someone else take care of the cooking, Nîmes' wide selection of restaurants and cafes offer something for everyone, from Michelin-starred cuisine to a crusty baguette sandwich washed down with a glass or two of the local Costieres de Nîmes wine.

Above Les Halles de Nîmes food market is the car park, where the apartment has a reserved parking space on the private parking level.  Please note the car park height restriction is 1.80m/71ins.

Unfortunately the apartment is not wheelchair-accessible, due to a small staircase from the third to fourth floor upon entry into the apartment, and pets are not permitted.
